Fist Time

Yesterday night I went to the boys varsity hockey game which happened to be my first hockey game ever. I never knew how physical it is out there on the ice and the game was actually a lot of fun to watch. Its crazy how good at ice skating you have to be to play. I went with my friend Sarah who graduated from Marquette last year and her boyfriend who goes to Chaminade so yes I sat on the Chaminade side with them…Sorry. I wore black though for the theme. It sucks that the games have to be so late though which will probably limit the number of times I can go to the hockey games. Last year I only went to one football game and that’s it so this year I have been trying to get more involved by going to a lot of football games and hopefully some more hockey games with friends. I know a couple of the guys on the hockey team but most of them are sophomores so they didn’t get to play last night which was a bummer. I also am not playing basketball this year so that should free up my schedule and allow me to have more free time with friends and go to more sports events.

Behind In Blogging

Well, I have completely forgotten about doing this so now I have to write 7 blogs in a week and a half. Well, what’s new…Last weekend The 02 team that I played with for State Cup made it to the finals but lost but it was still a great weekend because we beat PAO in PK’s which was big because the 02 team lost to them 6-0 in semifinals last year. My actual team which is 03 blue won State Cup so that was also really cool. After the Semifinal game, I went and hung out with some friends for a while which was fun. This past weekend My 03 team was in the SLSG friendlies. In my game Friday I pulled my groin muscle but played in the game Saturday anyways which made it 10 times worse so I was out for the game Sunday and am out for this upcoming weekend of games too. My team and I leave for South Carolina at the end of this month so I’m getting ready for that as I also try to prepare for my departure to Spain which is coming faster then I expected. Since my team won State Cup we get to go to regionals this summer in Michigan which will be nice because I have always really enjoyed Michigan. Anyways, I hope my groin heals quickly and that I get back into the swing of things quickly.

State Cup

This past week I had State Cup. My team won all 3 games so we’re onto the Semi-Finals this Saturday. The second game we won 9-0 and I scored 2 goals. It was really weird because BT (my history teacher) was my center ref for 2 of my games. The second game I was going for a hat-trick and tried to dribble around the goalie but she took my feet out from under me making me land on my head. I was fine but the ref made me come out of the game because it was a head injury so I had to talk to the trainer to make sure I wasn’t showing signs of a concussion. Our game Saturday is our hardest game we will play and we lost to them last year in the Semi-finals so we’re looking for revenge.  The team we played last Sunday happened to be my old team and they are taught to play dirty which is one of the main reasons I quit that team. I got elbowed in the ribs and my hip bone so I was limping pretty bad Sunday night. If we win our game this Saturday then we make it to the finals on Sunday. If we also win Sunday then we are State Cup champions and go to regionals in the summer. I’m really happy that we don’t have school Friday so I get a day of rest before the big game. I’m really sore from this past weekend so my mom took me to a chiropractor yesterday to work on my muscles which really helped me to be not as sore and ready to give it my all at practice tonight.

Saturday Night

Last Saturday night I went and spent the night at a friends house with a bunch of girls. Let’s just say the evening did not go how I thought it would. She ended up inviting a ton of people over and it basically turned into a huge party. Everyone stayed until around 1 am and it was so loud. I went to bed at 4 am and had to get picked up at 10 am. This whole week I have been completely drained. I’m behind in so much sleep that I don’t know how I will make it this weekend at school. After the big bang on Saturday night, I had to babysit on Sunday from 4:15-7:45 60 kids ages 2-4 for my church’s children ministry. I was already sleep deprived and being surrounded by tons of annoying kids did not help. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, but they sure get annoying, loud, sticky, crusty, etc…I think I washed my hands like 9 times that night. I have soccer every single day this week. Practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Then I have my first State Cup game Friday night which sucks because I wanted to go to the football game. Then I have another game Saturday, and then another one on Sunday. If we win those then next week we go into the finals to go to regionals. Even if we lose State Cup we still have a spot in regionals because we have been undefeated this season with a total of 34 goals in 7 games. Our team has a ton of articles written on us and I’m really excited about this weekend especially sense Soccer STL, and college coaches will be watching.

This past weekend games

Before I got sick, I had A soccer game this past Sunday and Saturday. The game Saturday we got poured on so they called the game at half and told us all to go home. We were already up 6-0 at halftime so they counted it as a win for us. The game Sunday was our hardest game we were told. Our team and the team on Sunday were the only 2 teams in the bracket undefeated. Being undefeated is very important for our team because if we stay undefeated but lose state cup, we automatically get to go to regionals. The game Sunday was brutally hot and no one was prepared for it due to what the weather said earlier. The game was hard all the way through but we ended up winning 3-0. We have 2 more games for this season for MRL and should win those. That means we will be in the highest bracket for u16 girls. State Cup is also next week which is important to win because we won State Cup last year. Also, at the end of November, we go to North Carolina for the Nationals League. I will have to miss 4 days of school for that trip because were flying there with the team. State Cup is also really important because there will be many college coaches watching our games and scouting out players. I really hope that our team does well and wins State cup as well as our next 2 games to finish off the season.

Sick At Home

As some of you probably realized, I have not been to school at all this week. I have been really sick since Sunday and it’s annoying the crap out of me. Catching up on homework and blogging while sick is like hell. Yesterday was the worst day of being sick and I had to do a math packet. I was so mad and could barely do the work, but thankfully I finished it on time. I have already missed one soccer practice and I’m going to have to miss another one which is really bad because State Cup is next week. It sucks that I wasn’t able to enjoy the early release day. Instead, I was at home moaning to my mom about my throat. I don’t get sick that often but when I do it hits me long and hard. Basically, I sleep till 12 every day, get up and complain to my mom, drink a smoothie since that’s about all I can have, do a little homework, and then go back to sleep till about 8:00 pm. I have missed 3 tests and 4 quizzes which sucks. Everyone thinks I’m lucky to be at home but I would much rather be at school then be really sick and behind in school. I just hope that all the teachers are understanding when I get back and don’t overload me with homework, tests, and quizzes. Anyways, I know this has probably been really boring to hear because trust me it has been really boring to write.

Bio Draft

Megan is passionate about the game of soccer. While she likes to watch others play the game, she would always rather be the one out on the field playing it. She works hard at every practice and it shows during her games. She makes good decisions out on the field when under pressure and if she makes a mistake or loses the ball, she fights to get it back. Most of her support comes from her family who goes to all her games and always has feedback to help her grow in the game and her skills.

(Generic apology since I wasn’t in class for the details of this)

Homecoming Success

HOCO was a lot of fun. I went over to my friend Sydney’s house at 4 so that she could do my hair. Then my friend Brook did my makeup. ALl us girls got ready together (9 of us) and then the boys came at 6 for pictures. After pictures, we had pizza ordered to Sydney’s house and the boys wanted to play X-Box as we waited to leave. We left at 7:30 and got to the dance around 7:45. Our group stayed together the whole night which was a lot of fun. We danced like crazy and made each other laugh a lot. We left at 9:30 and headed back to Sydney’s house. When we got there we made a fire in her firepit and sat around and talked and played Never have I ever and other stupid games like that. The boys had a curfew at 12: 3o so at midnight my friend Natalie and I drove the boys home since she can drive. Then when we got back home and it was just the girls, we talked and went on our phones for a while. A bunch of the girls began to fall asleep so we went to bed around 2:30 in the morning. I got picked up from Sydney’s house at 10 in the morning to go to church and I was so tired I fell asleep in church…oops. Yesterday sucked because I was tired and then my brother came over to the house and I got yelled at because of some annoying stuff with him and then I got my phone taken away from that and my dad refused to call my friends dad to get me ungrounded. So yeah yesterday sucked but oh well.

Homecoming Week

Its homecoming week and my stress switch have been flicked to on. I think the off button broke because I have been stressing way too much for a little dance. I have a dress and shoes so I’m fine in that aspect but I have no idea what to do with my hair and makeup. Also, my friends and I are trying to find an after party to go to and of course my parents are drilling me with questions of “where will you be?” “What time will you be home?” “Will their parents be home?” I dont have a single answer to any of these queations which makes it worse. The football game is tomorrow and I’m running on 4 hours of sleep due to working on my Language Arts poster board. Then I had to get to school early to get my picture taken and I woke up 10 minutes before I had to leave. So this year my picture will either look like I’m high, or I am still half asleep. I don’t know which one would be worse. Honestly, I’m just excited for Sunday. I can sleep in and then I get to talk to my friend that I have not talked to in a while. (10 months to be exact) yes, I know your probably wondering why the heck I would wait that long to talk to my friend. well I was grounded from my friend due to some very poor decisions we made last year and I have suffered the consequences. Well, I’m sure HOCO will be fun and I will figure everything out.

Going Out Of Town….Again

Right when I get out of school today, I leave for Indiana for two soccer games. I am driving up with my friend on the team and it’s going to be a lot of fun. I also received an email yesterday with the roster for who is going to North Carolina for Nationals. I made the roster which was exciting because he was cutting 4 people. I heard there are going to be a lot of college coaches at the games this weekend and one of the colleges I want to go to will be at the game So I hope I do really well. I am considering Ball State University as a college to go to and this past summer I participated in an ID camp on their campus. The head coach of Ball State came to one of my games last year and said I did well so I hope to do even better this time. I have cousins who live about 40 minutes from where I will be playing and I think they are going to come to watch which would be fun because I’m really close with them but don’t get to see them that much. The car rides up to the games are really fun because my friend and I are really close and make jokes the whole time and do stupid stuff. Her birthday is Sunday so I might go shopping today before I leave to get her a gift. She lives in Illinois so I don’t get to see her that much outside of practice. She drives about an hour and 15 minutes three times a week for practice and then even more when we have games which I think is crazy. Practice during the week goes from 8:15-9:45 so she doesn’t get home till almost 11 which does not leave much time for homework and deprives her of sleep which sucks.
